TRAVEL IN AMERICA

America is the only continent whose name is of pagan origin, a tribute to the Italian navigator Américo Vespucio.

North America consists of Canada, USA, Mexico, Greenland (danish territory), Saint Pierre and Miquelon islands (french territory), Bermuda (british territory) and Bahamas. The total population of the continent is about half one billion inhabitants.

The territory of Central America is composed of the continental stretch that connects South America to North America and the islands of the Caribbean Sea, a region full of islands, reefs and atolls. Several islands are territories French, British or Dutch.

South America holds twelve developing countries and a total population of 348 million, representing 6% of world population. Has the greatest linguistic integration between all the continents: the overwhelming majority speak Portuguese or Spanish.
